| COMMAND LINE OPTIONS |
CacheSentry Pro supports the following command line options:
-I
or /I
This is "immediate mode". Instead of running CacheSentry Pro
normally, it makes it immediately (without opening any windows) do a single
management cycle of the cache and then exits. If the index size bugfix is
enabled, it will check for that bug as well during the cache scan. With this
feature, you can put CacheSentry Pro in the Windows Task Scheduler (or any
scheduling program) and have it run to do a quick cleanup on the cache and then
exit, maximizing your use of system memory and the CPU.
-L or
/L
CacheSentry Pro will log all of its activity to a logfile named "CSPLog.txt"
and it will be stored in the working directory of the program, which is usually
the directory the program is in unless it is run from a shortcut that specifies
a different working directory. The log file stays closed when CacheSentry Pro
is not actively logging anything at the time.
Additionally, you can specify the name of a manager set to load with CacheSentry Pro. Normally, CacheSentry Pro uses the last loaded or last saved manager set as the one it will automatically load the next time the program is run. You can specify a new one to load by using the path and filename to the manager set you want it to use. You can place the name anywhere on the command line, and enclosing the path and filename in quotes is optional. Because of this, you can associate the CacheSentry Pro Manager Set files with CacheSentry Pro and double-click on the manager set to start CacheSentry Pro with that manager set. If you used the installer version of CacheSentry Pro, these files were automatically associated with CacheSentry Pro. If you used the .zip version, you can associate the manager set files to CS Pro with Explorer's folder options->File Types window.
